our quick bio and what we’re all about!
My name is Hossien Sahebjame. I have a BS in Pure Math from UCLA and an MS in Pure Math from CSULB. I did two years of a PhD program in complex geometry. I have passed qualifying exams at the masters & PhD level in Topology, Real & Complex Analysis. For better or worse, I have authored a calculus 1 and 2 textbook which is part of a calculus 1-3 series as well as taught a wide variety of mathematics courses to a wide range of students over my 16 plus years of experience. If you have a pulse, I can teach you mathematics!! In my spare time (If I am not answering math questions on MathStackExchange or Quora) I am either on my unicycle, hiking, or in the water. Other than that I am home with my significant other and our three little ones!
OUR TEACHING PHILOSOPHY:
We always loved mathematics; as learners, doers, and teachers. Doing math is both a hobby and passion for us. We push for less students to be “afraid” of math and rather enjoy it in all of its beauty. Our teaching philosophy is rather simple: to be as subjective as possible when dealing with each individual student! Each student is unique and learns in their own way and has their own background in both life and mathematics. One cannot expect there to be one algorithm across the board for all students. Our goal is to mold our teaching to the students liking and not vis versa. We aim to educate subjectively as apposed to objectively! In addition, we use methods with lots of questioning to help the students arrive at the answer without being totally 100% dependent on us. Our services include YouTube math tutorial videos ordered into playlists by subject as well and free live math stats and physics help via discord!
